This integrated approach provides training on how to not get Grabbed, Struck, or Taken-down
while utilizing pro-active techniques to de-escalate an encounter, reducing the need to
escalate the use of force. Proper use of pro-active de-escalation techniques and interview
positioning increases officers’ safety and provides an officer with a tactical advantage if necessary.
This two-day course will increase an officers’ ability to recognize and manage a potentially violent
subject and to manage a non-compliant or combative detainee.
